French For Rabbits
I spent a few days at Blue Barn studio in Wellington with French For Rabbits working on a Single that might feature on their forthcoming album. Pretty fun getting in to a different space for a bit although I hardly felt like I was in Wellington as I didn't leave the studio except for sleep! We worked hard and got all the tracking done, now I'm back in Auckland ready to mix it all.

Great North Demos
Great North spent the evening with me on Valentines Day, not being romantic but recording demos for 2 songs that might be on their forthcoming album, one song we recorded everything except backing vocals live and the other (which was a stripped back song) Acoustic, the 3 vocals, electric and Harmonica seperately. The photos were taken by Great Norths Pianist Dale.

Malborough & Devenport Wine and Food Festivals
View from the stage at soundcheck in Marlborough |
Last Friday I caught the two planes to Blenheim with Avalanche City for a beautiful dusk soundcheck for the Marlborough Food and Wine Festival the next day. What a beautiful place Blenheim is! The next day we had just enough time for a glass of wine or 2 before Avalanche City played and we headed straight out to catch the smallest plane I have ever been on!

Avalanche City - Big Day Out Tour
I recently spent a couple of weeks in Australia doing sound for Avalanche City at the Big Day Outs. The shows went really well! Its always interesting as to what I should expect from an Avalanche City show, the band is constantly evolving and changing its line up of instruments and members and this was the first time this line up had played together
Dave has played for the majority of last year around America as a three piece and at the moment opt to play 'Go' in that arrangement with Dave stomping on a stomp box for the kick drum and Stephen stepping down from the Drums to sing and play Tambourine.
The shows sounded great! (even if I say so myself) I was a bit nervous at first as I had in the past been somewhat weary of Avid's live desks but I soon found my way around the Profile and made friends.
Here are a few photos I took with my phone from the tour.
