This weekend I had Dinosaur Club round to record, we're working towards a 5 track EP. Tracking went really well we got drums bass guitar keys percussion done for all 5 tracks and started vocals on 3 of them. A really productive weekend!
I even managed to squeeze in time to take some photos!
Dave and Thomas are heading back here this Saturday to finish them off.
Inbetween whiles I have been preocupying myself mixing the 10 Clap Clap Riot demos and Just finished tracking vocals for Grace Lawry's song this afternoon. Busy is good, could always be busier though!
We finished tracking everything last night for all 10 of Clap Clap Riots demos, its been quite an intense past few days but fortunately the band are all very competent musicians and we didn't have to spend too long on takes etc.
Yesterday we spent the day tracking vocals, eating muffins and adding some extra claps and clicks etc! Lisa Crawley even popped her head in to track some vocals on "Yoko Ono"
Hopefully soon you'll be able to hear the results (when I am done mixing!)
Turns out the only photo we got of lisa was this one with her pretending to sing... (she doesn't really sing with her eyes closed and arm in the air) (much)
Yesterday Dave and Steve came back to fix up guitar parts and we managed to start some vocals too for the 10 Demos that Clap Clap Riot are currently recording. In between tracking we managed to fit in some rides on our lawn mower and tractor, they had a race around our packing shed. A good time was had by all and we still managed to be incredibly productive, hooray!
here are some photos of the tomfoolery!
Steve was working hard.
We realised that we all have fender student guitars from the same era!
Just had a pretty great weekend tracking some demos for Clap Clap Riot, we got drums sone for 10 songs with most of the bass and rhythm guitar parts done too Dave and Steve are due back here any minute to fix up Steves guitars and add Daves then we'll be tracking vocals etc later this week.
Just had Grace Lawry and her band here recording a demo of her new song "Don't Let Go" we laid down the live tracks this evening and Grace should be back to do her vocals when she's not feeling as sick! It was a pretty rushed afair, trying to fit in as much recording between Ben finishing work and it being a reasonable time to be making drum noises! From setting up drums till final take took about two and a half hours.
Results are sounding good so far! We set Olly's shiny new Fender Deville up in my isolation (bath)room while he hung out with Grace myself and Ben. Heres some photos!
Congratulations to Artisan Guns and Wildwood Lights for dominating the bFM Top Ten this week! Both tracks were recorded here so I feel like a proud parent.
Kingston's track "You Want It" recorded here is currently being run on TV ads for V energy drink heres a youtube clip of the Ad
Its a pretty cool Advert, I'm really proud of the Kingston guys, they work really hard and with their album due to be recorded in Canada over the next few months it seems that things are really paying off for them!
We recorded the song a few months back, just before they headed off to L.A, Germany and Japan. Drums and bass were done live with a guide guitar track, later we tracked guitars over the top. Finally Dan came in to do his vocals for this and the 4 other songs we demoed in the evenings over a week. Here's some of the only pics from those sessions (too busy working for photo taking! I think Shohans camera took these)
